Safety first, always

Trust isn't a feature. It's the foundation.

Every decision at Pairus starts with one question: would we trust this with our own kids? Here's exactly how we vet caregivers, protect your privacy, and keep payments secure.

Two-layer vetting

No caregiver is cleared without passing both.

Before anyone can accept a single visit, they clear two independent checks. It's the bar we'd insist on as parents ourselves.

  1. 1

    Layer 1 — Identity verification

Powered by Stripe Identity, every caregiver matches a government ID against a live selfie. It confirms the person you see is exactly who they claim to be.

  2. 2

    Layer 2 — Background check

A criminal background screen runs before a caregiver is ever marked as cleared. Anyone who doesn't pass simply never appears to families.

Privacy by design

Your personal details stay yours.

Masked phone numbers

Calls between families and caregivers route through a private number — real digits are never shared, the way Uber and DoorDash protect their users.

Address shared on confirmation

Your home address is only revealed once a visit is confirmed with a caregiver you've matched with.

Details on a need-to-know basis

Care plans, allergies, and notes are shared only with the caregiver on that specific visit — never broadcast.

Secure payments

Money handled carefully, always itemized.

No cash, ever

Everything runs through secure in-app payments, so there's never an awkward hand-off or a wrong-change moment.

Authorized, then captured

Your card is authorized when a visit is booked and only charged for the care that actually happened — with overtime itemized separately.

Clear receipts

Both sides see a transparent breakdown: care time, overtime, tips, and the support fee. No mystery charges.

Safety questions, answered

Who runs the background checks?

Identity is verified through Stripe Identity, and criminal background screening is run through a dedicated screening provider. A caregiver must pass both to be cleared.

Can caregivers see my phone number?

No. All calls route through a masked number, so neither families nor caregivers ever see each other's real digits.

What if I'm uncomfortable during a visit?

You're always in control — you can contact support and end a visit. Safety concerns are treated as our highest priority.

Care you never have to second-guess.
